- Qualification
- The essential qualification for the post of Associate Professor will remain the same as for the post of Assistant Professor of the similar/concerned discipline.
- Experience
- For medical candidates (general disciplines): six years teaching and/or research experience from a recognized Institution in the subject/discipline concerned after obtaining the qualifying degree of MD/MS or a qualification recognized as equivalent thereto. For super specialty disciplines: four years teaching and/or research experience after obtaining the qualifying degree of D.M./M.Ch. (2-year or 5-year course recognized after MBBS), or three years for candidates possessing a 3-year recognized degree of D.M./M.Ch. For non-medical candidates: six years teaching and/or research experience in the respective discipline/subject after obtaining the Doctorate degree.

- A medical qualification included in Schedule I & II or part II of the third Schedule of the Indian Medical Council Act of 1956; a postgraduate qualification (MD/MS in the concerned discipline) or a recognized qualification equivalent thereto. Non-medical candidates for Anatomy, Biochemistry and Physiology need a Master's degree in the subject and a Doctorate degree from a recognized University.
- Experience
- Three years teaching and/or research experience in a recognized Institution in the subject of specialty after obtaining the qualifying degree of MD/MS, or three years teaching/research experience after the Doctorate degree for non-medical candidates.
Age Limit
Maximum 50 years as on 07-11-2026; the upper age limit even after relaxation shall not exceed 55 years

- Private practice of any kind is strictly prohibited for all posts.
- The period of probation for all faculty posts is two years and employees are governed by the New Pension Scheme.

DNB Equivalence
Candidates holding DNB in broad specialties or super specialties as the essential qualifying education must produce documentary evidence of equivalence with MD/MS/DM/M.Ch. issued by the Competent Authority, as per the NMC, New Delhi notification dated 14.02.2022. DNB granted in a medical institution with an attached hospital, or in a hospital with 500 or more beds, is equivalent in all respects to the corresponding MD/MS or DM/MCh; in all other cases senior residency in a medical college for an additional period of one year is required for the qualification to be equivalent for teaching.
Joining Time
Joining time is 30 days from the issue of the appointment letter. Extension is considered only in exceptional cases with the approval of the Competent Authority, AIIMS Rewari. A candidate selected or offered appointment against more than one post will not be allowed to change the post after joining.
Study Course
A candidate pursuing any programme such as M.Ch./DM/Fellowship while applying may join only if the course is completed on or before the last date of joining given in the offer letter. No request to join as faculty while continuing the course will be considered and any request for extension of joining time to complete the course will be rejected.
Residential Accommodation
There is a provision for residential accommodation for faculty appointed at AIIMS Rewari, but in view of the paucity of campus accommodation it may not be possible to provide it soon after joining. Where no accommodation is provided, House Rent Allowance as admissible to Central Government servants of similar status stationed at Majra, Rewari, Haryana will be paid as per rules.
Government Servant Age Concession
Age relaxation of 5 years is admissible only to regular employees working under the Central Government, provided a certificate to this effect from the employer in the prescribed format is produced. It is not applicable to those working under Autonomous Bodies, State Governments or PSUs.

Can non-medical candidates apply?
Yes, for the Anatomy, Biochemistry and Physiology posts. Non-medical candidates need a Master's degree in the subject and a Doctorate degree, with three years teaching and/or research experience after the Doctorate.
Is a No Objection Certificate required?
Yes. Candidates working in Government, Semi-Government, PSUs or Government-funded autonomous bodies, including contractual employees, must produce an NOC from the present employer or they will not be allowed to appear for the interview.
