Important Details
- PwBD candidates are not eligible to apply as CSL is engaged in hazardous operations and their deployment is likely to put them at serious risk.
- Candidates currently working as Fabrication Assistants, Outfit Assistants or Mooring & Scaffolding Assistants on the rolls of CSL as on the date of the notification are not eligible.
- The contract is for a maximum of five years and appointees are liable to be transferred within different units of CSL, on board ships, or to work sites in any part of India or abroad.
- Rank lists are valid up to 18 months.
- No TA/DA is paid for attending the selection process and call letters are not sent by post; they must be downloaded from the CSL website or received by email.
- Applicants should not submit more than one application and an application once submitted is final.
Minimum Pass Marks
The minimum pass mark is 50% of the total marks of each test for unreserved posts and 40% for ST candidates against vacancies reserved for ST. CSL may relax the minimum pass mark if the number of qualified candidates is insufficient.
Tie-Breaking
Where more than one candidate secures the same aggregate marks, relative merit is decided on seniority in age.
Experience Rules
- Only experience acquired after passing the stipulated qualification is counted, reckoned as on 12 November 2026.
- Completed apprenticeship training in the relevant trade under the Apprentices Act 1961 and any training with remuneration count as experience for eligibility but not for fixing the consolidated pay.
- Applicants currently employed must submit an appointment or offer letter and latest pay slip where an experience certificate is not available.
- Ex-servicemen must submit a discharge certificate, book or pension payment order, and qualification endorsed in the discharge certificate is counted for post qualification experience.
Rank List Validity
Rank lists are maintained for each post and remain valid up to 18 months from the date of reporting of the last candidate, or until a fresh notification for the same posts is issued.
