Important Details
- The actual number of positions may vary on the date of the interview.
- The tenure mentioned in the advertisement is tentative and liable to be curtailed or extended as per the decision of the competent authority, and is in any case co-terminus with the project or till the requirement exists, whichever is earlier.
- Candidates who have already worked in CSIR-CMERI or any other CSIR lab or institute as Trainee / Project Assistant / Project Fellow / JRF / SRF / Project Associate / Research Associate for 6 years or more are not eligible; those who have worked for less than 6 years will have their tenure end automatically on completion of six years.
- The date for determining the upper age limit, qualification and experience is the date of interview of the respective post code.
- No TA/DA is paid for attending the walk-in interview.
- Hindi or English may be used as the medium of communication during the interview, and the process may continue till late evening or the next day.
- Candidates presently engaged in any project in CSIR-CMERI or any other CSIR lab must produce an NOC from the competent authority, failing which they will not be allowed to appear.
- Offer letters will be issued subject to availability of funds and approval of the competent authority.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can candidates already working in a CSIR project appear for the walk-in interview?
Yes, but they must produce a No Objection Certificate from the competent authority. Without it they will not be allowed to appear in the interview.
Is NET or GATE compulsory for these posts?
It is compulsory for the Project JRF and Project Senior Research Fellow positions. For Project Associate posts it is not mandatory, but candidates with CSIR-UGC NET or GATE get the higher pay slab.
Will travel or dearness allowance be paid for attending the interview?
