About CSIR IHBT Project Associate, Project Assistant and More Recruitment 2026

CSIR-Institute of Himalayan Bioresource Technology, a Palampur-based research institute under the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research in Himachal Pradesh, is hiring Project Associates, Project Assistants and Senior PAT staff for various ongoing projects. Qualification
M.Sc. in Biotechnology / Biochemistry / Plant Sciences from a recognized University and 3 years' experience in Research and Development in Industrial and Academic Institutions or Science and Technology Organizations and Scientific activities and services OR Ph.D in Biotechnology / Biochemistry / Plant Science from a recognized university and 2 years' experience in Research and Development in Industrial and Academic Institutions or Science and Technology Organizations and Scientific activities and services. Desirable: Experience in Liposomes, NSG, Gene Cloning, Phytology.

3 years' R&D experience with M.Sc., or 2 years with Ph.D.

Project Associate PAT-I38 posts
Qualification
M.Sc. / M.Pharm / B.Tech / M.Tech in the subject specified for each position code. Desirable qualifications vary by code (plant cell cultures, agrobacterium mediated genetic transformation, molecular biology tools, genome editing, nutritional quality analysis, field trials, data recording, natural product chemistry, organic synthesis, analytical tools, etc.).

Life Sciences (Specialization in Plant Sciences) from a recognized university and 2 years' research experience in R&D in Industrial and Academic Institutions or Science and Technology Organizations and Scientific activities and services. Desirable: Work experience in plant cell organ culture, molecular biology techniques and biochemical profiling techniques.

    Objective Test (Multiple Choice Questions) followed by Interview

Pay: Rs. 42,000/-PM + HRA
Project Associate PAT-I
Pay: Rs. 25,000/-PM + HRA; Rs. 31,000/-PM + HRA for NET/GATE qualified candidates for codes 17002, 17007, 17012, 17016, 17020, 17022 and 17024
Project Associate PAT-II
Pay: Rs. 28,000/-PM + HRA
Project Assistant-I (PA-I)
Pay: Rs. 18,000/-PM + HRA
