Chairperson and Member - Qualification and Experience
A respectable and educated citizen of India engaged in public activity or social work, ordinarily residing within the jurisdiction of the Dowry Prohibition Officer concerned, and a native of UT of Puducherry. Out of the four members in each region, one person with legal experience will be considered.

- No honorarium or remuneration will be paid for serving as Chairperson or Member.
- The term of office of the Chairman and Members is five years unless otherwise decided by the Government of Puducherry.
- The Advisory Board meets at least once in three months, and the quorum for a meeting is three.
- Each Advisory Board consists of not more than five social welfare workers, of whom at least two shall be women.
- A person convicted by a criminal court for an offence involving moral turpitude, an undischarged insolvent, or a person of unsound mind is disqualified from appointment.
