- Each saja has a single post and the recruitment process for each saja is independent, though the written examination for all posts in Nashik district will be held on the same day and at the same time.
- The post is unclassified and carries field work, so reservation for persons with disabilities, project affected persons, ex-servicemen and sportspersons does not apply.
- Candidates who have registered with the employment or self-employment guidance centre, service office or social welfare office must still apply online independently and pay the fee; no separate intimation will be sent to them.

Merit and Tie-Breaking
If all other things are equal, preference in appointment as Revenue Servant (Kotwal) is given to the sons of the existing Kotwal of that saja. Where two candidates other than the Kotwal's son have equal final marks, the merit order is decided as per the conclusions in the General Administration Department resolution dated 13 June 2018.
Non-Creamy Layer Certificate
Candidates from the advanced and progressive (creamy layer) groups of SC, ST, DT, NT, SBC and OBC must submit a non-creamy layer certificate issued by a competent authority valid up to 31/03/2027 at the time of document verification. If the caste validity certificate is not available, temporary appointment is given and the caste validity certificate must be submitted within six months from the date of the temporary appointment order, failing which the appointment is cancelled with retrospective effect.
Small Family Declaration
Under the Maharashtra Civil Services (Declaration of Small Family) Rules 2005, candidates must submit the prescribed Form A declaration. Candidates who have more than two children born after 28/03/2005 are not eligible, and even unmarried candidates must submit the declaration in the prescribed form.
Reservation Rules
- Reservation for SC, ST, DT (Vimukta Jati), NT, SBC and OBC applies under the Maharashtra State Public Services (Reservation) Act 2001, in force from 29 January 2004.
- Women candidates from the open category who want the benefit of women's reservation must state the claim in the online application.
- Women claiming reservation must submit a Maharashtra domicile certificate; the non-creamy layer certificate requirement has been removed for open category women as per Government Resolution dated 4 May 2023.
- Candidates must check the reservation applicable to the saja before applying, since each saja has only one post reserved as per government decision.
