B.E./B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering from a University or Institute recognized by the Government. The candidate must possess working knowledge of computers and proficiency in MS Office and other relevant computer applications, and should be conversant with electrical engineering design and estimation software, AutoCAD and other relevant technical tools. Knowledge of electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, load calculations, electrical layouts and preparation of technical specifications is essential.

Important Details

Desirable Qualification and Experience
- Minimum 3 years of relevant working experience in electrical installation, operation and maintenance, preferably acquired as a Junior Engineer (Electrical) or in an equivalent position in planning, design, estimation, execution, supervision, operation and maintenance of electrical installations and allied infrastructure.
- Experience is considered only where the candidate has been involved in installation, maintenance, repair, renovation or upgradation of electrical systems in buildings, public infrastructure or other relevant facilities.
- Practical experience in preparation of electrical estimates, load calculations, preparation and checking of Bills of Quantities (BOQ), scrutiny of electrical drawings, verification of contractors' bills and monitoring of electrical works.
- Experience in installation, operation and maintenance of LT electrical distribution systems, distribution panels, transformers, electrical cabling, earthing systems, street lighting, high-mast lighting and other outdoor electrical installations is preferred.
- Knowledge of e-tendering procedures, Government works-related formalities, electrical safety practices and applicable technical standards and regulations is preferred.
Job Responsibilities
- Ensure regular presence at work sites during execution of electrical works for supervision and monitoring.
- Prepare and scrutinize electrical designs, estimates, load calculations, technical specifications, tender documents and bid documents.
- Supervise installation, testing, commissioning, operation and maintenance of electrical systems in buildings and public infrastructure.
- Monitor execution of electrical works including LT distribution systems, electrical panels, transformers, cabling, street lighting, high-mast lighting and illumination systems.
- Inspect electrical installations for compliance with approved drawings, technical specifications, contractual conditions and electrical safety standards.
- Verify quality of materials and equipment such as cables, switchgear, circuit breakers, distribution boards, lighting fixtures, protective devices and earthing materials.
- Scrutinize and verify contractors' bills, measurement records and test reports before recommending payment.
- Coordinate with electricity distribution authorities, contractors and consultants for power connections, load enhancement and meter installation.
- Maintain records relating to electrical installations, inspection reports, testing and commissioning, maintenance schedules and energy consumption.
