- A recognized medical qualification included in the first or second schedule or Part-II of the third schedule (other than licentiate qualification) to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956. Holders of educational qualifications included in Part-II of the third schedule should also fulfil conditions stipulated in sub-section (3) of section (13) of the Act. M.Ch./DM or equivalent in concerned superspecialty.

Important Details
- This is a rolling advertisement valid up to 31.12.2026 or till the date of notice of closure, whichever is earlier, and remaining vacancies are interviewed on the three walk-in dates.
- Five posts are horizontally reserved for PwBD category in identified posts.
- If reserved candidates (SC, ST, OBC and EWS) are not available, vacancies will be filled by the available meritorious candidate for a period of 44 days at the sole discretion of the Appointing Authority.
- No private practice is allowed for Full Time Specialists, Full Time Super Specialists and Senior Residents
- Senior Residents receive Non-Practicing Allowance.
- Candidates who have already worked as a Senior Resident under the 3 years Central Senior Residency Scheme for 3 years are not eligible to apply for the post of Senior Resident.
- The selected candidate must join within 07 days from the date of receipt of the selection order and sign a contract agreement on Rs. 100/- stamp paper.
- Absence from work for 15 days without proper permission of the Competent Authority amounts to abandonment of engagement.
- No TA/DA is admissible for the walk-in interview or for joining.
- No hostel accommodation, quarters or uniform will be provided.

Security Deposit
Selected 3-year Senior Residents must furnish a DD/Bankers Cheque for Rs. 30,000/- and selected 1-year Senior Residents Rs. 15,000/-, drawn in favour of 'ESIC A/c No 1' payable at Tirunelveli. If the candidate resigns or terminates the contract within 9 months without notice, or without one month's notice thereafter, the amount is appropriated towards administrative cost.
Professional Indemnity Policy
Selected Specialists and Super Specialists must hold a professional indemnity policy covering errors and omissions with a minimum sum assured per annum of Rs. 30 Lakhs for Super Specialists, Rs. 20 Lakhs for General Surgeons and Obstetrics, and Rs. 10 Lakhs for Dentists, Radiologists, Microbiologists and similar Specialists. A copy of the premium receipt must be submitted within 7 days from the date of engagement.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can candidates who have already completed three years of Senior Residency apply?
No. Candidates who have already worked as a Senior Resident under the 3 years Central Senior Residency Scheme for three years are not eligible for the Senior Resident post.
Can MBBS doctors without a PG degree apply?
Yes. MBBS doctors with two years experience, including one year in the concerned specialty, can apply for the 1-year Senior Resident post, and can also be selected for the 3-year Senior Resident posts in General Medicine, Obstetrics & Gynaecology and Surgery if no PG qualified doctor is available.
Is private practice allowed after selection?
No. Private practice is not allowed for Full Time Specialists, Full Time Super Specialists and Senior Residents, and Senior Residents receive a Non-Practicing Allowance.
Will hostel accommodation or quarters be provided?
No. No hostel accommodation, quarters or uniform will be provided to selected candidates.
