Important Details
- No private practice is allowed in any capacity after joining as teaching faculty at ESIC Medical College & Hospital Surat.
- Candidates working in Government, Autonomous or Statutory institutions should preferably have an NOC at the time of interview; if it is not immediately available, a copy of the applied-for NOC and an undertaking must be submitted at document verification.
- The engagement is contractual and carries no PF, pension, gratuity, medical allowance, medical benefits, seniority or promotion.
- Hostel accommodation or quarters may be provided to the extent possible and cannot be claimed as a right; if availed, no HRA is payable and licence fee is deducted.
- Absence exceeding seven days without prior approval is treated as voluntary abandonment and leads to automatic termination.
- No TA/DA is paid for appearing in the interview.

Security Deposit
Selected candidates must submit a security deposit of Rs. 20,000 for every post by Demand Draft payable to ESI Fund A/c No. 1 at Surat on joining. The deposit is refunded on successful completion of the contract period and submission of a No Dues Certificate, and is forfeited if the candidate resigns within six months of joining, except in unforeseen or unavoidable circumstances.
Reservation and Temporary Engagement
If no suitable or eligible candidate from a reserved category is available, the vacancy may be filled through a temporary engagement for 44 days, extendable by a further 44 days if required. PwBD reservation follows Government of India guidelines; if such candidates are not available, the vacancies are filled from the interview panel and the PwBD reservation is carried forward. Candidates appointed under the PwBD quota are adjusted against the vacancy of the respective SC/ST/OBC/EWS/General category.
Rolling Advertisement
Walk-in interviews will be held on 26-10-2026 and 27-10-2026 and subsequently on the 4th Monday of every month till December 2026. If the 4th Monday is a holiday, the interview is held on the immediately following date or as notified. Notices of such vacancies are published only on the ESIC official website and no separate newspaper advertisements will be issued.

Are allowances paid on top of the basic pay?
Yes, selected candidates receive the fixed basic pay plus other allowances as per ESIC Headquarters Office Memorandum dated 08.12.2022. Non-medical officers are not entitled to Non-Practicing Allowance, and HRA is not payable if institutional accommodation is availed.
Can retired or working professors apply?
Yes, retired or working professors may also apply for the eligible teaching faculty posts.
