A Master's degree with 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point-scale wherever the grading system is followed) in Computer Science or a concerned/relevant/allied subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university. Besides this, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC or CSIR, or a similar test accredited by the UGC like SLET/SET, or be awarded a Ph.D. Degree in accordance with UGC Regulations 2009 or 2016. OR B.E./B.Tech and ME/M.Tech/M.S or Integrated M.Tech with at least one degree either at UG or PG level in a relevant discipline with first class/equivalent credits at UG and PG in any one of the degrees. OR B.E./B.Tech and MCA with First Class or equivalent credits in any one of the two degrees. OR Graduation of three years' duration and MCA with First Class or equivalent credits with two years of relevant professional industry experience after acquiring the MCA degree (two years exempted for Ph.D. holders in a relevant discipline; one year exempted for MCA of three years duration or graduation of four years duration). Important Details
- The post is purely temporary and on a contractual basis for 11 months or completion of the semester, whichever is earlier, and no other benefits will be given.
- The medium of instruction at all levels is generally Gujarati, so knowledge of Gujarati/Hindi is essential.
- A relaxation of 5% marks is allowed at the Bachelor's and Master's level for SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer), differently-abled and other specified categories as per UGC regulations, based only on qualifying marks without including any grace mark procedure.
- A relaxation from 55% to 50% at Master's level is allowed for Ph.D. holders who obtained their Master's degree before 19 September 1991.
- Canvassing in any form disqualifies a candidate, and a candidate furnishing incorrect or false information stands disqualified.
- Gujarat Vidyapith reserves the right not to fill any advertised vacancy and to increase or decrease the number of posts in a discipline.
Ph.D. Holders Exempted from NET/SLET/SET
- The Ph.D. degree of the candidate has been awarded in a regular mode
- The Ph.D. thesis has been evaluated by at least two external examiners
- An open Ph.D. viva voce of the candidate has been conducted
- The candidate has published two research papers from the Ph.D. work, out of which at least one is in a refereed journal
- The candidate has presented at least two papers based on the Ph.D. work in conferences or seminars sponsored, funded or supported by the UGC, ICSSR, CSIR or any similar agency
- The fulfilment of these conditions is to be certified by the Registrar or the Dean (Academic Affairs) of the university concerned
- NET/SLET/SET is also not required for Masters programmes in disciplines for which the test is not conducted by the UGC, CSIR or a similar UGC-accredited test
Frequently Asked Questions
Can candidates without NET/SLET/SET apply for this post?
