Eligibility Details
Institute Post-Doctoral Fellow
Essential: Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related fields from a recognized Institute/University. Ph.D. scholars who have submitted their thesis are also eligible to apply. However, the scholar must submit the provisional/degree certificate within six months from the date of appointment. If not submitted within the time limit, the appointment will stand cancelled, or a decision will be taken in consultation with the thesis processing authority.

Important Details
- Ph.D. scholars who have submitted their thesis but are yet to be awarded the degree may apply, but they must submit the provisional or degree certificate within six months from the date of appointment, failing which the appointment stands cancelled.
- Candidates who already applied against Advt. No. IISERB/DoF/2026/06 dated February 4, 2026 need not apply again as their applications will remain active.
- Incomplete applications will not be processed.
Fellowship for Thesis-Submitted Candidates
Candidates who have submitted their thesis and are awaiting the award of the Ph.D. degree or provisional degree will be paid a reduced fellowship of Rs. 35,000 per month plus HRA. On submission of the Ph.D. degree, the full fellowship of Rs. 67,000 per month plus HRA is restored effective from the date of award of the Ph.D. degree or provisional degree.
Medical Insurance
It is mandatory for the IPDF to hold a medical insurance policy of a minimum of Rs. 1 lakh in their own name, valid throughout the fellowship period. No medical reimbursement is admissible.
Leave and OPD Facility
IPDFs are entitled to leave and OPD medical facility as applicable to PG students at the Institute, as laid down in the PG Manual.
Accommodation
No accommodation will be provided to the IPDFs.
Duties
Besides research work, the selected IPDF is expected to assist in teaching course(s) in accordance with the requirements of the Department.
