MECON Limited, a Government of India PSU under the Ministry of Steel and one of the country's leading design, engineering and consultancy companies, has announced recruitment for Additional Engineer, Deputy Engineer, Assistant Engineer, Junior Engineer and other posts on a Full Time Fixed Tenure contractual basis. Selection Process

    Personal Interview

    The mode of selection is personal interview; the list of candidates called with date, time and venue is uploaded on MECON's website and emailed to shortlisted candidates. The mode may be changed at the discretion of Management.

    Document Verification

    Candidature is subject to verification of details and documents when the candidate reports for interview or at any later stage; scrutiny of the application is undertaken on the date of interview.

    Medical Examination

    Selected candidates must undergo a medical examination before appointment and joining is subject to being found medically fit.

Salary Structure

Consolidated pay ranges from Rs. 41,190 to Rs. 78,390 per month depending on the post and experience slab (post-wise amounts in the vacancy table). Site Allowance at 7.5% of pay for postings at site/project locations, Metro Allowance at 2.5% of pay for Metro locations. Annual increment of 3% of consolidated pay, rounded to the next ten rupees. Important Details

  • Candidates employed in Central or State Government, Public Sector Enterprises or autonomous bodies must either forward their application through proper channel or produce a No Objection Certificate from their present employer at the time of interview, failing which they will neither be interviewed nor paid TA.
  • Aadhaar card is mandatory for the online application and the application is summarily rejected if the Aadhaar number entered does not match the uploaded Aadhaar card.

Travelling Allowance for Interview

Outstation candidates appearing for the personal interview are reimbursed TA for III Tier A/C (3A) or CC by rail, or Rs. 7 per km by road, or actual expenditure, whichever is less, subject to production of receipt, ticket or boarding pass. Rail fare is regular fare only, with no premium Tatkal. Internal candidates are governed by the company's service rules.

Documentary Evidence for Work Experience

  • For past employment, submit work experience certificates for all previous employments mentioned in the application, clearly indicating date of joining, date of relieving, nature of duties and relevance to the applied post; experience without such a certificate is not considered.
  • For current employment, submit an experience certificate, offer or appointment letter, or identity card showing the date of joining, along with the last 3 months' pay slips as proof of continuity.
  • Self-declarations regarding the nature of the job or the specific area of experience are not accepted.

Reservation and Category Certificates

Reservation and relaxations for SC, ST, OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), PwD (40% or above disability) and EWS candidates are as per Government of India guidelines, and PwD reservation is on a horizontal basis. OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates must furnish a certificate in the prescribed Government of India format issued on or after 02.09.2025; if it is not readily available, an earlier certificate may be uploaded and one issued after 26.09.2025 submitted at the interview or before joining. EWS candidates must produce an Income and Asset Certificate from a competent authority. SC, ST and OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates applying against a UR post are considered on general category merit with no age limit or fee relaxation.
