About NBPGR Project Associate and Project Assistant Recruitment 2026

ICAR-National Bureau of Plant Genetic Resources (NBPGR), a New Delhi based institute under the Indian Council of Agricultural Research, has announced recruitment for Project Associate-I and Project Assistant positions on a project basis. A total of 5 posts are on offer under a DBT funded project, covering research work in plant genetic resources, data analysis and related agricultural science activities at the institute.

Qualification
Post Graduate degree in Life Sciences/ Biochemistry/ Chemistry/ Food chemistry/ Bioinformatics/ Biotechnology/ Agricultural Sciences/ Agronomy/ Genetics and Plant Breeding.
Experience
Proven hands-on experience in the computational analysis and interpretation of biological data, particularly NGS data and strong programming skills in Python, R, or Perl, with experience in scripting under Linux/UNIX environments. Experience in agriculture research for phenotyping, crop management & statistical analysis. Experience in analytical food chemistry. Publications in peer-reviewed high impact journals.

Maximum 35 years

Qualification
B.Sc. in Agriculture/ Life Sciences or 3 year Diploma in Engineering & Technology/ Computer/ Information technology.
Experience
Working experience in field experiment, data recording in germplasm collections for phenotyping and crop management & statistical analysis. Proficiency in computer operations (MS office).

Salary Structure

Project Associate-I
Pay: Rs. 31,000/- + 27% HRA or Rs. 25,000/- + HRA
Project Assistant
Pay: Rs. 20,000/- + 27% HRA
