Important Details
- All appointments except for Residents are on a contract basis initially for 4 years including a probationary period of one year, which may be extended by one year at the discretion of the Director.
- The tenure of Senior Residents is 3 years and of Emergency Medical Officers is 1 year.
- Women reservation is applicable as per rules.
- The number of posts can be increased, decreased or withdrawn by the Department without notice, and reservation is subject to verification by the Welfare Department.
- Candidates must hold the requisite qualifications and experience on the date of interview and must attend with original certificates plus 2 spare copies.
- The Institute may restrict the number of candidates called for interview to a reasonable limit on the basis of higher qualification and experience and other academic achievements.
- Jurisdiction for any dispute lies with Chandigarh/Punjab.
Notes on Vacancies
- Vacant posts of Senior Residents will be filled from House Surgeons.
- Various posts of Professor may be filled with lower posts if a suitable candidate is not available.
- House Surgeon pay is Rs. 67,968 per month.
