Important Details
- The engagement is on a contract basis for deployment at a client site, and the offer letter and continuation of services depend on the client approving the candidate's CV and on the project requirement.
- Age, experience and all other eligibility criteria are reckoned as on the last date of application, 20-10-2026.
- Training, internship, teaching, academic, fellowship and PhD research experience are not counted as post qualification experience.
- Consultants are not entitled to statutory benefits such as PF, ESI or gratuity, and no TA/DA is payable for attending the interview or for joining.
- Candidates working in government departments or PSUs must be relieved from their parent organisation before joining.
- No extension is given beyond the age of 65 years.
- Police verification will be carried out and a negative report ends the contract immediately.
- Candidates can apply for any number of vacancies, and applications once submitted cannot be altered.
Additional Terms for ICT Engineer (Hospital Management System)
- The requirement is for a total period of 12 months on an intermittent basis, spread across the entire project tenure of 3 years.
- RITES will give a minimum of 7 days prior intimation before utilising the services, specifying the exact dates and number of working days for each stint.
- Payment of Rs. 7,560 per day is made only on marked attendance; weekly off days and gazetted holidays falling between work periods are not considered for payment.
- Air travel expenses are reimbursed at actual cost on submission of valid tickets and proof of journey, strictly for the New Delhi to Guwahati round trip.
- No reimbursement is made for multi-city travel or any route outside the approved route.
Leave and Benefits
The Individual Consultant is entitled to leave at the rate of 1.5 days for each completed month, with no accumulation of leave beyond a calendar year, on a pro-rata basis. Absence up to one month may be considered without remuneration. Women consultants may be eligible for maternity leave as per the Maternity Benefit (Amendment) Act, 2017.
Tenure and Extension
The initial tenure of engagement is 12 months, extendable based on the performance of the individual and the requirement of the project. Continuation beyond the first and subsequent years depends on a satisfactory annual performance review against defined Key Performance Indicators, and extension is done on the same project only. No extension is given beyond the age of 65 years.
Payment and Tax
Payment is released by RITES within one week after completion of the month based on the attendance registered by the Individual Consultant. Income tax or any other tax liable to be deducted is deducted at source before payment and a TDS certificate is issued. Goods and Service Tax, as applicable, is admissible to the Individual Consultant.
Retired Government Servants
As per Rule 177 of GFR 2017, consulting services do not include direct engagement of retired government servants. A retired government servant can be hired as a consultant through a competitive process, only for specific tasks and a specific duration, with clear output related goals, and not against regular vacant posts.
