Outstation Young Professionals are provided company accommodation subject to availability: 2-bedroom accommodation or an equivalent monthly rent of Rs. 6,000 at city locations. YP-3 may also be considered for 3-bedroom accommodation or an equivalent monthly rent of Rs. 10,000. Electricity, water and maintenance charges are payable as per actuals and no HRA is payable. During the initial three months, outstation Young Professionals may stay at a SAIL Guest House/Transit House on payment of Rs. 200 per day, subject to availability, with food charges at applicable rates.

The standard duration of engagement on all working days is eight and a half hours per day, six days a week, with timing as per the allocated shift. The Young Professional may be required to work beyond the prescribed hours as per work exigencies at no extra cost. Leave is 1.5 days for each completed month, that is 18 days in a year, with no accumulation beyond a calendar year and on a pro-rata basis. Any absence beyond 18 days in a calendar year is not payable, and prior sanction of the designated authority is required for any absence from the workplace or headquarters.

Candidates attending the interview are reimbursed single to-and-fro AC 2-Tier rail fare along with reservation and Tatkal booking charges, from the place of correspondence address to the venue by the shortest route, on production of proof of journey, provided the distance covered by rail or road is more than 30 kilometres each way. For candidates travelling by a higher class or by road, reimbursement is restricted to the fare of the entitled class. On joining, YP-1 and YP-2 are reimbursed an amount equivalent to 2AC train fare from the nearest railway station, and YP-3 is entitled to economy airfare or 1AC train fare from the nearest railway station/airport.
