Important Details
- Applications are invited only from Indian Nationals employed in any Major Port and must be forwarded through proper channel.
- An advance copy of an application will not be considered if the application does not reach HDC, SMPA through proper channel by the last date.
- The crucial date for determining eligibility is the last date of receipt of application, 23.11.2026.
- Incomplete applications or applications not submitted as per the prescribed procedure will not be considered.
- If any major or minor penalty was imposed on the applicant during the last 10 years, the disciplinary case details along with necessary documents must be sent by the forwarding authority with the application.

- Post Graduate Degree / Diploma in Materials Management from a recognised University / Institution
- Five years post qualification experience in Materials Management in an Industrial / Commercial / Govt. Undertaking
Deputation Terms
While on deputation the officer may elect to draw the pay of the post in the Major Port Trust or basic pay in the parent organisation plus deputation allowance. Deputation allowance is 5% of basic pay subject to a maximum of Rs. 4,500 per month within the same station and 10% of basic pay subject to a maximum of Rs. 9,000 per month where the deputation involves a change of station. Cafeteria allowance is subject to a ceiling of 35% of basic pay. HRA, joining time pay, transfer travelling allowance, medical facilities and leave travel concession are governed by Major Port Trust rules. Leave is governed by the parent organisation's rules. The Major Port Trust pays leave salary and pension contribution to the parent organisation and makes matching NPS contribution where applicable.
Feeder Grades for Absorption / Deputation
Absorption / Deputation is open to officers holding analogous posts or the feeder posts of Assistant Manager (MM) or Assistant Manager (P&E) in the scale of pay of Rs. 50,000-1,60,000 (pre-revised Rs. 9,100-15,100) with 5 years regular service in the grade, or Assistant Manager (MM) / Assistant Manager (P&E) in the scale of pay of Rs. 50,000-1,60,000 with 2 years regular service in the grade, in a Major Port Authority.
