Eligibility Details

Project Assistant

PG degree in Sports Biomechanics / Sports Science / Exercise Physiology / Physical Education / Physiotherapy OR UG Degree in Footwear Design / Footwear Technology / Biomedical Engineering / Mechanical Engineering / Material Science and Engineering OR a relevant discipline from a recognized University/Institution are eligible. A minimum of 55% marks or equivalent CGPA in the qualifying degree is desirable, subject to applicable Government/University norms.

Important Details

  • The appointment is purely temporary, contractual and co-terminus with the CMRG project, which runs for 3 years.
  • The selected candidate must work full-time for the project and shall not draw any other fellowship or financial assistance from another funding agency.
  • The appointment confers no right to claim regular appointment or absorption in the University, and continuation is subject to satisfactory performance and progress of the project.
  • No separate call letter will be sent for the interview; eligible candidates must attend the interview on 16.10.2026 at 11.00 a.m. in the TNPESU Campus.

Project Title

Optimizing Sports Performance in Adolescents: Design and Development of foot Morphology-Based Conditioning Shoes.

Desirable Skills and Experience

  • Sports biomechanics and human movement analysis

  • Foot anthropometry and foot-shoe interaction
  • Gait and plantar-pressure analysis
  • Force-plate and motion-capture based assessment
  • EMG and neuromuscular assessment
  • Running, sprinting, jumping and landing analysis
  • Footwear design and development
  • Shoe cushioning, stability, traction and shock absorption
  • Footwear materials and sole construction
  • CAD/3-D modelling and prototype development
  • Statistical analysis using SPSS/R/Python/MATLAB or equivalent
  • Research methodology, data collection and scientific documentation
  • Experience in working with adolescents, athletes, schools or sports institutions
