Important Details
- One Time Registration is mandatory before applying and carries a separate registration fee of Rs.150; a completed OTR is valid for five years and linking the Aadhaar number with OTR is compulsory.
- OTR is not an application for any post.
- Part B and Part C answer sheets are evaluated only if the candidate secures the minimum qualifying marks of 40% (60 marks) in Part A, and the total of Parts A, B and C is used for ranking.

- Selection is provisional and subject to the final orders in any pending cases before the Madras High Court and its Madurai Bench.
- Village Administrative Officer, Junior Assistant (all services), Bill Collector, Revenue Assistant, Tax Collector, Junior Administrative Assistant, Record Clerk, Sales Assistant, Forest Watcher and most other posts: Minimum General Educational Qualification, that is a pass in the SSLC (10th Standard) examination or its equivalent.
- A person who passed the 10th Standard Government Examination conducted by the Board of Open School, Tamil Nadu is deemed to have passed the SSLC Public Examination.
- Typist, Steno-Typist (Grade III), Shorthand Typist (Grade III) and Personal Clerk: SSLC pass or Minimum General Educational Qualification, plus the Government Technical Examination in Typewriting and/or Shorthand by Higher or Senior Grade in Tamil and English (or the permitted combinations of Higher/Senior and Lower/Junior grades), and a Certificate Course in Computer on Office Automation conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education, Government of Tamil Nadu.
- Candidates without the Computer on Office Automation certificate may apply and must acquire it within probation or within two years from appointment.
- Junior Administrative Assistant (Computer Operator): Minimum General Educational Qualification (SSLC Public Examination), Typewriting in English and Tamil by Higher Grade, and a pass in the Certificate Course in Computer on Office Automation conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education, Government of Tamil Nadu.
- Junior Assistant in Tamil Nadu Small Industries Development Corporation, Police Housing Corporation, Power Finance and Infrastructure Development Corporation, Medicinal Plant Farms and Herbal Medicine Corporation, and Handloom Weavers Co-operative Societies: A degree from a university recognized by the University Grants Commission.
- B.Com. is required for the Power Finance and Infrastructure Development Corporation post and the Power Distribution Corporation (Accounts) post.
- The Handloom Weavers post requires any degree with a Diploma in Co-operative Management or Co-operation as a special subject in the degree.
- The Medicinal Plant Farms post also requires a Certificate Course in Computer on Office Automation.
- Executive Officer (Grade IV): Minimum general educational qualification SSLC, or the title of Tamil Pulavar recognized by the University Grants Commission.
- Junior Inspector of Co-operative Societies: For SC/SC(A)/ST/MBC/DC/BC(OBCM)/BCM candidates, Minimum General Educational Qualification or the certificate of eligibility for a College course of studies issued by the Board of Secondary Education or any other competent authority.

- Telephone Operator: A pass in S.S.L.C. and a certificate issued by the Telephone Department or from the Principal of a Government-recognised Telephone Institute for having undergone the necessary training in the operation of a Telephone Board.
Reservation for Destitute Widows
10% of the 30% of vacancies set apart for women candidates in direct recruitment are reserved for Destitute Widows. The reservation applies only to posts that do not exceed Level 10 in the pay matrix. If no qualified and suitable destitute widow is available, the turn goes to women or transgender (women) candidates of the respective category. A Destitute Widow is a widow whose total monthly income from all sources is not more than Rs.8,000, and the status is reckoned with reference to the date of notification.
Persons with Benchmark Disability Reservation
Out of the total appointments in each communal reservation category, 1% each is reserved for persons with benchmark disabilities under categories (a) blindness and low vision, (b) deaf and hard of hearing, and (c) locomotor disability including cerebral palsy, leprosy cured, dwarfism, acid attack victims and muscular dystrophy, and 1% for categories (d) autism, intellectual disability, specific learning disability and mental illness and (e) multiple disabilities taken together.
