Important Details
- The engagement is purely temporary, made on behalf of the project sponsor, and does not confer any right to a CSIR-CEERI or CSIR post.
- Candidates who have already served CSIR-CEERI or any other CSIR lab as project staff for six years or more are not eligible; those who served less than six years can be engaged only for the remaining period.
- Candidates with the required qualification but no experience can also apply and will be considered for the PAT-I position.
- Selected candidates are expected to join immediately and must bring all original testimonials, mark sheets, certificates and a passport size photograph at joining, failing which the engagement can be withdrawn.
- The last date and time for applying is 14.10.2026 till 05:00 PM and applications received after the last date will not be entertained.
Tenure of Engagement
Engagement is for six months initially or co-terminus with the present project, whichever is earlier. It may be extended in steps of six months for the duration of the project based on satisfactory performance. Total service as PAT-I, PAT-II, Senior PAT, JRF, SRF, Project Assistant-I or Project Assistant-II in CSIR-CEERI and/or any other CSIR lab shall not exceed six years in any case.
AcSIR Ph.D. Students
AcSIR Ph.D. (Engineering/IDDP) students without any fellowship may apply only when their research domain of Ph.D. is aligned with the research area of the project. Before applying, the student needs permission of the Supervisor(s), PI of the project and approval from the Director, and a scanned copy of the same must be uploaded on the portal. Students who are having a fellowship are not eligible to apply.
Reservation
If all things are equal, SC/ST/OBC/PWBD/EWS candidates may be given preference over General candidates so as to ensure their representation.
HRA
HRA will be admissible as per CSIR guidelines and subject to availability of funds in the project.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can candidates without experience apply for these CSIR CEERI posts?
Yes. Candidates who meet the qualification but have no experience can apply, and they will be eligible for the PAT-I position.
Is a NET or GATE score compulsory for CSIR CEERI project staff posts?
It is not compulsory, but a valid CSIR-UGC NET or GATE score is preferred. Candidates with such a score get the higher emolument of Rs. 31,000 for PAT-I and Rs. 35,000 for PAT-II.
Is the CSIR CEERI project staff engagement a permanent government job?
No. The engagement is purely temporary and made on behalf of the project sponsor. It does not give any right to claim a post in CSIR-CEERI or CSIR.
