There are seven vacancies in total, all ex-cadre departmental posts. Selected employees will be posted at the Zonal Railway Training Institute, Muzaffarpur, to train railway staff in Permanent Way engineering subjects, on a tenure basis with the employee's lien retained in the parent department.

Important Details
- This is an internal departmental selection open only to regular employees of the Engineering Department of East Central Railway; clerical employees of the department are not eligible.
- Employees in the same Grade Pay of Rs. 4,600 or Pay Level 7 may apply, and if no suitable Level 7 employees are available, those in Grade Pay Rs. 4,200 or Pay Level 6 may be considered.
- Financial upgradation received under MACP is not treated as the substantive grade for deciding eligibility.
- Age, service period and other conditions are calculated as of the date of issue of the notification, prescribed under RBE No. 104/2023 dated 4 September 2023.
- Applications sent directly by employees or received after 15 October 2026 will not be considered.
Tenure of Appointment
The selected employee will be posted at the Zonal Railway Training Institute, Muzaffarpur, on a tenure basis for a maximum period of five years. If performance is found unsatisfactory, the administration may return the employee to the parent unit before the tenure ends. The employee's lien remains maintained in the parent department, division or railway.
