Selection Process

Candidates report at the venue and register with the nominated KRCL official between 09:00 hrs and 12:00 hrs on the walk-in date.
- 2Group Discussion or Written Test
May be introduced as an elimination round depending on the number of candidates; those who get through are called for the further process of selection.
- 3Walk-in Interview
Conducted by a nominated committee; the merit list is drawn based on interview performance, qualification and post qualification experience.
- 4Medical Examination
Selected candidates must pass the prescribed medical examination before the contract is entered into.
Salary Structure
Consolidated remuneration Rs. 47,220 per month (Class A), Rs. 44,300 per month (Class B), Rs. 41,380 per month (Class C), inclusive of Basic, DA, HRA, Conveyance and Mobile Allowance

Candidates fulfilling the eligibility criteria may report directly for the walk-in interview with all original certificates and one copy of the application in the prescribed format (Annexure A) along with one set of self-attested copies of all required certificates. Registration is open from 09:00 hrs to 12:00 hrs only on 21 October 2026. After preliminary screening of the applications submitted in person, only provisionally eligible candidates will be interviewed. Candidates should come prepared to stay for a minimum of 2 days at their own cost; no train, bus fare, TA or DA is payable by the Corporation. Applications not in the prescribed format, or with illegible, ambiguous, missing or incomplete certificates, will be summarily rejected.

Important Details
- The engagement is on fixed term contract basis for the Mechanical / Project Department and the posts are not regular establishment posts; selected candidates have no right to claim permanent absorption in KRCL and must give a written undertaking to that effect.
- Selected candidates must execute an agreement and indemnity bond of Rs. 50,000 in favour of KRCL on stamp paper of Rs. 100 or more.
- Candidates already working in KRCL on contract basis and selected against this notification do not have to follow the notice period condition for joining the new post, but a relieving letter from the concerned Konkan Railway authority is required at the time of joining.
- Selected candidates should join at the project site or place of posting within a maximum of 30 days after the offer of appointment is issued.
- A panel of standby candidates over and above the requirement will be maintained as per merit.
- No accommodation will be provided and no food or mess allowance will be paid.
- The number of posts notified is liable to change as per the requirement of KRCL.
Place of Posting
Generally posted in various depots of KRCL like Madgaon, Verna, Tokur, Ratnagiri, Chiplun etc. As per urgent requirements, candidates can be posted in various KRCL projects. Selected candidates can be posted and transferred at any time, anywhere to the KRCL establishment during the contract period.
Brief Description of Duties
Supervision of maintenance of various rolling stocks like LHB/ICF coaches, wagons, MEMU, diesel locomotives, track machines, tower wagons etc and any other duties given by KRCL administration.
Leave and Other Facilities
- Fully earned leave of 15 days on completion of every 6 months of the contract period (2.5 leaves per month), which can be accumulated but not encashed.
- 8 days Casual Leave during the year of contract.
- Weekly off and other public holidays as applicable to the attached offices at the place of posting.
- Complementary Railway Pass for travel on duty and road travel reimbursement as per KRCL policy.
- Rest House of KRCL if available while on duty, otherwise reimbursement of hotel charges on production of vouchers.
- Provisions of New Labour Code-2026 like insurance, payment of gratuity and bonus will be implemented as applicable.
- Annual remuneration will increase by 4% of the consolidated remuneration after completion of every year, subject to the requirement of KRCL.
