About Mormugao Port Authority Technical Assistant (Civil) Recruitment 2026

Mormugao Port Authority, which operates the major port at Mormugao in Goa, has announced recruitment for the post of Technical Assistant (Civil) through its General Administration Department. The engagement covers two positions on a contract basis at Headland Sada. Selected candidates will support civil engineering works of the port, and the contract tenure carries no claim to permanent absorption in port service.

Eligibility Details

Technical Assistant (Civil)

B.E. (Civil) / B. Tech (Civil) with two years post qualification experience in Civil Engineering.

Age Limit

Not exceeding 32 years as on 01.10.2026

Selection Process

  1. 1
    Scrutiny of Applications

    Applications are assessed against the eligibility criteria and a provisional list of prima facie eligible candidates is displayed on the MPA website by 23.10.2026.

  2. 2
    Document Verification

    Provisionally eligible candidates report to the HRD Training Centre, MPA, Headland Sada on 28.10.2026 at 9.30 am with all original documents and testimonials.

    Written Examination

    MCQ test of 1 hour 30 minutes carrying 85% marks; candidates must score at least 50% in Section I (Civil Engineering) with 50% in aggregate to qualify.

  4. 4
    Oral Interview

    Interview of 15 marks held on 29.10.2026 at 11:00 am onwards; qualifying marks are 50% of the marks assigned in the interview.

Important Details

  • Applications must be sent by email to [email protected] with the resume in the body of the email itself; resumes or applications sent only as attachments will not be accepted.
  • Soft copies received after the scheduled date and time, or incomplete applications, will not be considered under any circumstances.
  • No candidate will be allowed to enter the exam centre after 9:45 am on 28.10.2026.

Contract Terms

  • The engagement is for two years and terminates automatically on expiry
  • MPA reserves the right to enter into a fresh contract on mutually agreed terms
  • Either side may terminate the contract by giving one month's notice
  • The engagement confers no right to claim permanent absorption in Port service
  • Income tax deductions will be made as per Income Tax provisions

Leave, Medical and Accommodation Benefits

  • Casual Leave at 1.25 days for each completed calendar month of contract service, with no encashment or carry forward
  • Free medical treatment in MPA hospital for self only, to the extent of facilities available in the Port Hospital
  • Port accommodation subject to availability at prevailing rent, deducted from the consolidated pay, with water and electricity charges borne at actuals
  • Working hours as per office hours with weekly offs

Written Exam Qualifying Rule

To be shortlisted for the oral interview, candidates must score a minimum of 50% marks in Section I (Civil Engineering) with 50% in aggregate put together. The list of candidates qualifying the written examination is displayed at the examination venue, and only those candidates appear for the oral interview. Final selection is based on the total qualifying marks scored in the written exam and oral interview taken together.
