Professor of Practice - Qualification and Experience
Distinguished experts who have made remarkable contributions in their professions from various fields such as engineering, science, technology, entrepreneurship, commerce, social sciences, media, literature, fine arts, civil services, armed forces, legal profession, community development, panchayati raj, rural development, watershed development, water harvesting, organic farming, small green energy systems, municipal planning, community participation, gender budgeting/planning, inclusive development of tribals and public administration among others. Those who have proven expertise in their specific profession or role with at least 15 years of service/experience, preferably at a senior level, will be eligible. A formal academic qualification is not considered essential for this position if they have exemplary professional practice in lieu, and such experts are exempted from the publication and other eligibility criteria stipulated for recruitment of faculty at Professor level.

Salary Structure
Honorarium of Rs. 2000 per contact hour up to a maximum of Rs. 10,000 per day, subject to a maximum ceiling of Rs. 90,000 per semester

Duties and Responsibilities
- Contribute to development and designing of courses and curriculum
- Contribute to introduction of new courses and deliver lectures as per institutional policies
- Encourage students in innovation and entrepreneurship projects and provide mentorship
- Focus on enhanced industry-academia collaborations
- Conduct workshops, seminars, special lectures and training programmes with regular faculty members
- Carry out joint research projects or consultancy services with regular faculty of the concerned institution
- Any other duties and responsibilities assigned by the University
Travel and Accommodation Benefits
Professors of Practice are entitled to travel by train in AC II tier, AC III tier, AC Chair car or I Class and claim actual fares paid on furnishing a ticket. If they travel in a lower class or by bus between places connected by train, actual fares paid are reimbursed. Travel in their own car or a hired conveyance is paid as per university rules. Guest House accommodation and local hospitality are provided by the university.
