- 1Phase I - Objective Type Offline Test
70 marks of 75 minutes duration, with General Knowledge, General English, Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude and Discipline related sections; each question carries one mark and there is no negative marking.
- 2Certificate Verification
Candidates who secure the minimum pass mark in the objective test and meet the notified eligibility requirements are shortlisted in the order of merit, in a minimum ratio of 6 candidates against one post.
- 3Phase II - Practical Test in CAD
30 marks, held at UCSL, Malpe for candidates who successfully complete certificate verification.

Important Details
- PwBD candidates with low vision, deaf and hard of hearing, or one arm, one leg, both legs, leprosy cured without functional impairment, dwarfism or acid attack victims without other functional disability can apply, provided they can perform the assigned tasks.
- Applicants without the prescribed qualification but with higher qualifications such as B.Tech or M.Sc will not be considered, and those claiming an equivalent qualification must submit an Equivalency Certificate from the competent authority.
- Candidates in regular Government service must apply online and upload a declaration that they have informed their employer in writing, and must produce a No Objection Certificate before final selection.
- The rank list is valid up to 18 months from the date of reporting of the last candidate and may be used for future vacancies.
- Selected candidates must undergo a medical examination prescribed by UDUPI CSL and give an undertaking to comply with the company's social media and smart phone policy at the workplace.
- No travelling allowance is paid for the offline tests, though SC, ST and PwBD candidates appearing for certificate verification at UDUPI CSL are reimbursed single to and fro sleeper class rail fare on production of proof.
- Any legal proceedings can be instituted only in the Courts, Tribunals or Forums at Udupi.
